Season's Greetings friends!
We wanted to share with you "The Byrne Family Recipe: An Evening In December" - a yearly tradition in the Byrne home. We hope you and your loved ones enjoy this tradition as much we do.
Blessings on you and your precious family as you celebrate Jesus together this season.
With love,
Barry & Lori Byrne
INGREDIENTS:
A seasonal dinner everyone likes (Other simpler options: Seasonal dessert or drink - hot cocoa, wassail, coffee, etc.)
A roaring fire in the fireplace (Other options if no fireplace: Outdoor fire pit or candles)
Christmas music playing in the background
An hour of intentional sharing time together
DIRECTIONS:
Combine together for a significant time with the ones you love:
Play Christmas music as you all begin working together to prepare dinner (dessert or drinks). Set up the room and dinner table with candles, and turn on only Christmas lights to set the atmosphere as you eat together.
After eating, retire to the fireplace (inside or outside or simply have candles in the sitting room) and turn the Christmas music down so that it's not distracting when you share together.
(If you did this activity last year, first review together and rejoice in the outcome of last year's "recipe" for each person. Then continue on with the following instructions.) Each one of you, take turns sharing one thing you want to give to God this year and one thing you want from Him. (Note: If you did this activity last year, do a quick recap of what each person's shared last year and take notice if it came to pass.)
Have one person record what everyone shares. Watch and rejoice together as these things come to pass in the coming year.
Review the outcome at next year's "The Byrne Family Recipe: An Evening in December"!
